This is a table from the 1864 U.S. Census Office report following the 1860 Census. It shows data on the production of boots and shoes in the United States in 1860, just before the Civil War. We used this data to create a bar graph comparing boots and shoes production in Union and Confederate States, which can be viewed along with the original table and a recreated table in these spreadsheets.
