WELCOME!
Data and data visualizations, such as timelines, maps, and graphs, are important sources of information in social studies and have become increasingly important modes of communication in our “datafied” world. Students need to know how make sense of them, critically evaluate them, and reason with them. Students need to be data literate.
This site provides resources for both elementary and secondary social studies teachers to incorporate data literacy instruction into their classes. Here you can learn more about data literacy, discover data visualizations that can be used for instruction, find lesson plans that center data literacy, and more!
