Dinsmore and Company, Dinsmore's New Railroad Map of the United States and the Canadas (1860)

This map was published by Dinsmore and Company around 1860 to accompany one of their railroad guides, which served as maps for travelers to inform them about newly built railroads, planned railroad construction, ownership, and the locations of canals. This particular map depicts all the railroads that were either completed or in progress in the United States at the time and highlights the growing interconnectedness of the country. Additionally, an inset map in the bottom right corner provides a closer view of the eastern part of Massachusetts, more clearly illustrating the railroad systems there.
